AB 430 IS ENDING:

  • AB 430 Administrator Training Program sunsets September 1, 2013.
  • However, Contra Costa County Office of Education’s AB 430 program will end June 30, 2012.
  • Participating administrators must apply for their Professional Clear Administrative Services credential by March 1, 2014.

Q:  Will I be able to participate in any AB 430 training in 2012-13?
While CCCOE will not be offering AB 430 training after June 30, 2012, there will undoubtedly be a few training providers in the state who will opt to offer some AB 430 training in the 2012-13 school year.  To find other AB 430 training providers, visit the CDE web site at www.ab430training.org and click on the “SBE Approved Training Providers” link in the black bar at the top of the page. You will need to contact individual providers to ask if they are planning to offer AB 430 next year.

Q:  Will CCCOE offer Tier 2 training after AB 430 ends?
Coming next:  CCCOE’s next Tier 2 Administrative Credential Program will be part of a tri-county consortium with Monterey COE and Santa Clara COE that is expected to begin in Fall 2012. New Tier 2 program guidelines will require that administrators:

  • Enroll within 90 days of employment
  • Work with an administrative coach
  • Participate in professional development
  • Length of Program:  Two years

Projected cost to complete CCCOE’s new Tier 2 program:  $7,000
